Last week, my 3-month journey with Amal academy came to an end. It was extremely over-whelming; I felt accomplished while still feeling as if I was leaving behind something very precious. The entire journey was a roller-coaster of emotions; from discovering my potential to facing my biggest fears.

  1. What was it like to just talk? Do you think it is important to connect and do things just for your emotional uplift sometimes, even without a focus on work?

The last session was very emotional for each and every fellow ( I suppose) and just talking about our journey, feelings and experience felt relieving. I think once in a while, it is important to leave behind work and focus on your emotions to absorb them completely. If there were different activities included in the last session like the rest of the sessions, we wouldn’t have received our well-deserved closure as we would be more focused on the activities rather than evaluating our growth and experience. Personally, the last session was emotional, I almost had tears in my eyes at the end while answering all those questions in my personal diary that Zaki had given us.

b. How do you plan on staying in touch with your Amal family moving forward?

Personally, I think the best way to stay in touch in today’s world is through social media. It is exactly how I plan to stay in touch with all the wonderful people I came across that I am grateful to call my Amal Family.

c. How do you intend to use what you learnt in this fellowship in your future life?

I have this really cute little diary in which I used to note down everything that I felt was important from the online sessions as well as the online courses. Every time I will need help with something that I was taught in this fellowship, I am going to run to that little diary for help. It’s almost as if I embedded (for me) the entire fellowship in it. Additionally, I have already noticed myself sub-consciously applying all the values I learned from this fellowship.

All in all, It was a beautiful journey that I will remember always.
